Mind the weeds , once I track out all the planting space the rest will have a good layer of bark to keep it all tidy and as weed free as possible .
I have started spreading my second compost pile out and all lawn clippings , fallen leaves , paper , pine needles , old hay , manure , sawdust are all going in as layers of goodness .
Nets are needed as we have free range chooks , plus once I planted out the cabbage , leeks , spinach silverbeet and violas I went to get the hose and the blackbirds were in so fast picking the worms out .
The first lot of potatoes have begun to pop out so I popped a layer of sawdust over them which was a good thing I did , there is snow on the montain behind us , beautiful but chilly .
