It is with a certain trepidation when planting seedlings that they may not survive the great transition from the safety of in the house to the perils of the garden.

With a wide variety of dangers including rabbits, pukekos, possums, slugs and snails. At least I think we are safe from frosts!

I have covered most of the new plants with mesh to help them get growing safely. The Yates Blitzem has been sprinkled around liberally and I have even experimented with some plastic containers protecting the cauliflower seedlings, courtesy of old soft drink bottles.

This week I have planted out the corn, zucchini, beans, sweetcorn, broccoli, cucumber, basil and dahlias, all grown from seed.

We have also planted some Yates Teddy sunflowers and Yates magical Fairy wildflowers that my daughter was intrigued by.

I am very much hoping that most of the seedlings survive out in the big wide world, I have certainly tried very hard to give them a good start!

Happy Gardening everyone!
