Today we harvested the first of the potatoes. I'd been anxiously watching the plants in one bed wither away and was hoping that they were dying back and not just dying. Today Mr 4 and I dug up two plants to find a small harvest of good sized red potatoes. I'd forgotten how much fun the treasure hunt of a potato harvest is.

Along with the broad beans, these potatoes were the first things planted in the new huglekultur beds in what is our new food forest area. It is incredibly satisfying to be harvesting our dinner from an area that was lawn a year ago.

Tonights dinner will be new potatoes, broad beans and lamb. A spring celebration!
