The raised beds have not been touched for over a year, and even then I was neither committed or expert.
Our house is near the beach so we have raised beds filled with bough soil. If you dig down more than a few cm it is all sand. When we first moved here water was restricted in summer but since the metered pipes that hasn't been an issue.
My main goals are for my kids to learn and understand where food comes from and provide the guinea pigs with fresh greens.
I don't expect any help from my lovely family, and I'll have to fit gardening around work, kids, study and volunteering.
I'm going to stop typing before I scare myself off!
