Blog Type:Mini Challenge - Meet your Neighbours, Vegetables, Flowers

Between life and that annoying thing called work I really haven't been able to get into my own gardeen this week.  I did however have the opportunity to torture a class of year 3 and 4's (7 and 8 year olds)  I bought in lots of veg/herbs to try chart their look, taste, smell and guess what they were.

After the tasting it was such a great opportunity to talk about our rainbow veg and how to cook/prepare .... although even the carrot confused a few but I was incredibly impressed at them trying all of them - A whole nasturtium leaf is pretty hard to swallow on its own! ... They had an absolute ball but I think their trust levels have lowered next time I offer them something.

I bought in turnip, grapefruit, spinach, spinach, red onion, nasturtium leaves, borage flowers, parsley, carrot, silverbeet stalks, celery, red cabbage, pear and nasturtium flowers.

We then turned a fruit or veg starting with our own letter into a super hero or super villian - Which turned into amazing writing using all sorts of alliteration.
