While we were only gone for two nights, the preparation done prior was definitely worth the effort. The winds did come in, and I was relieved everything was staked, but the sun also came out giving everything a much-needed boost, and a drying out of things, especially our lawns. I will admit, I did worry that it was going to be too hot, and that we would come home to wilted plants. As luck would have it, with the exception of a few weeds here and there, and the sweetpeas coming to an end, everything looked great. A thorough watering tonight was needed though.
Over the next couple of days, I will look at pulling out the sweetpeas, and I have a few more beans ready to go in, so I think it will pop those in, and we still have a few lettuce seedlings, and spring onions that can fill a few more gaps. The current beans are finally starting to take off, and I even spotted a few flowers starting to form. We may actually get some for xmas.
