Welcome to 2022.   After a bit of a delay due to a technical hiccup, the community is back up and running for sharing what is going on in your gardens and I can’t wait to see your updates.

We had a lovely holiday away camping and came home to a surprisingly well looked after garden.  The house sitters did a fab job looking after everything, picking what needed to be picked and watering the garden well.  It would seem the weather behaved itself while we were away as well so there was no harm or damage except some aphids in my melons which are now under control thanks to some Yates Nature's Way Organic Citrus, Vegie & Ornamental Spray.

It has been so lovely to decide what to have for dinner from the garden, although these days there is almost too much choice.  I think the days are coming when the pickling, preserving, and storing for the winter aren’t far away as each day the harvest is getting more that can be eaten in good time… even by hungry teens!

My Giant Pumpkin is taking its 3rd attempt.  The nice early one I had came to nothing and then for some unknow reason the second one, which was doing well, dropped off the vine and deflated into a gooey mess.  The most recent one seems to be hanging in there and I am lavishing attention upon it! It is already bigger than my smallest attempt ever, so I have no shame in taking that as a win.

How are your gardens going?   We’d love to know.

Happy Gardening
