Well maybe that is an exaggeration but it really is raining here in Whangarei.  It's been non stop all day and while I wanted rain to help our wildflowers get settled I'm now worried that our gardens might wash away.

Our main gardens are on a flat area down from our bank. The council have a culvert that diverts all the water from one side of the road under the road and onto our bank. This is both a good and bad thing as it means we get a lot of water in that area. I've dug a channel to direct it and so far it's doing it's job.

We now have a small river flowing through our property.  We are so lucky we built where we did as luckily the house is out of the path. We didn't know about this culvert until well after the slab was down.

Anyway I hope there is better weather in the rest of the country. On the bright side, our tanks are full, the garden is well watered and the pool is full too.
