I was lucky enough to be given my two rhubarb plants and they have done really well in my garden. They are such easy care plants that offer good rewards for little effort. The plants also don't mind growing in a part shade and aren't really prone to being affected by pests.
My plants are obviously different varieties although I have no idea what variety as one has small leaves and slightly shorter stalks while the other has giant leaves with long dark red stalks.
We love rhubarb and use it in lots of recipes like crumbles, muffins, jam and many more as well as stewing it to put on top of cereal.
Another great thing about it is if you don't want to use it straight away you can just chop it up and freeze it as is ready to use when you need it.
