Has anyone tried growing snake beans?

Apparently they are an Asian delicacy used in curries and stir fries. After growing them for a couple of years I have not had a big enough harvest to really give them a go in either.

I think I could count on two hands the snake beans I have harvested, but the ones I did were crisp and delicious. I (very boringly) just steamed them as a side vegetable and a couple have been devoured raw by my two grandsons who think they are amazing.

I had a good strike when I sowed the seeds and they looked healthy when planted out... but they took a long time to produce beans and then there weren't very many.

Has anyone (is there anybody out there?) got any hints for growing a good crop of snake beans?
