As we head into Labour weekend, that traditional weekend of planting out all of our more tender plants - tomatoes, capsicum, chilli, cucumber etc - the Met Service tells me we are in for a 3 degree low overnight tonight. I'm sure some of you around the country will go even lower.

Come on! Please Mr Meteorologist give us a break. Tomorrow night our low is predicted to be 6 degrees so I still won't be subjecting my delicate seedlings to that without some cover.

However Sunday is looking more optimistic here in the River City so I may just try my luck.

In the meantime our Agria potatoes have thier first buds and we are not taking any risk at all. So tonight they are tucked up tight just in case.
