I was splitting and planting out my raspberries today when I noticed the Cabbage White butterfly. I can’t believe It’s back already! I hope it means some warm weather is comign out way.
I’ve acquired an insect net some time last year for the purpose of protecting my brassicas from the butterfly. I may not have gotten around to using it last year due to laziness maximus (a serious condition I have haha ). Today I thought, now or never and stretched it over a combination of bought and homemade hoops. Fingers crossed this will protect my precious cabbages (grown pretty much solely for the much-loved sauerkraut).
What time of the year did you notice cabbage butterfly last year? Pretty sure we didn’t get it until November last year. Hope everybody had a warm and productive (or relaxing) weekend :)
