The Herb Garden

Haven often makes me smile,

She's cheeky, funny and kind.

When asked if we could use her garden,

She said she didn't mind.

We'd moved the strawberries a week ago,

To the house that is really sunny.

So she let us plant it up with herbs,

Without the exchange of money!

It's her special garden made of copper,

Just right for the job.

It's just outside the front of the house,

Not far from the kitchen hob.

In years gone past we planted herbs,

Out in the garden bed.

And forget them when it's time to cook,

As we didn't plan ahead.

So far we have some parsley,

Oregano and thyme.

Planted chives and basil,

Herbs are hard to rhyme.

So it you want my advice,

Well you'll get it anyway.

Herbs should be by the kitchen,

If you use them everyday.
