The Whatever Scones

With the end of the holidays looming, this morning was spent grabbing items to do calf club projects tomorrow, discussing an art project with Connor, and picking up a few gardening supplies. Nothing exciting like at the weekend, just a bit of mulch and feed to disguise the concrete mud splatter in my bbq flower bed, a few flowers to brighten up said beds, and a bit more compost. Sadly, the rain hasn't been heavy enough to remove the mess, and our compost isn't quite ready yet. To think only a few weeks ago I was moaning about all the rain. Now it is not heavy enough. Mother nature can't please me some days.

With very little else to do in the garden, except to watch how big Audrey and co are getting, I used the opportunity to raid the garden for lunch. This time we opted for savoury scones. Basically, just an ordinary scone mix with whatever is available in the garden. Today it was spinach, carrots, and spring onions. Finally chopped broccoli and red capsicums go well too. We also love to add a bit of feta. My theory is that if it can go in a quiche or frittata, it can go in my scones. I very rarely make normal scones anymore (well unless I am planning on jam and cream topping).
