Ticking Off the List

After a lovely weekend away celebrating my sister it was nice to get back home and into the garden.

I spent my morning getting a few jobs done;

- I weeded the main big vege garden and both the tunnel houses which didn't take too long as I have been trying to keep ontop of it.

- I gave everything in the tunnelhouses a feed of Yates seaweed tonic, as well as my poor beans in the garden who have been battered by the wind.

- I gave the rose bush from the otherday another blast of water to remove aphids, and checked the rest which are all bug free (for now) besides one. I also deadhead the spent rose flowers, my gosh they smell amazing!

- I trimmed some leaves off the cucumbers to create some airflow, which is really important for growing in the tunnelhouse to try and stop disease.

And lastly I had a good wander around the garden and was happy to see my first strawberries, which seem slow this year. I think next year I'm going to start again with them, as I don't know how old any of them are. I don't think this year is going to be my year for strawberries as some don't have many flowers. My young peachcot tree has some fruit, the apples are fruiting and I feel like we are going to have so many grapes again, which is definitely not a bad problem to have!

I'm looking forward to catching up on your gardens tonight if I get the chance!
