This blog has been unashamedly inspired by a recent blog from Simone. I absolutely love organised storage and Simones blog about her beautifully labelled seed storage container made me reflect on the little set of drawers in which I store my seeds.
My late Dad was an avid gardener, he was also a neat freak and a shed potterer.
Although his career was as an officer in the army, he loved to make things and he constructed all sorts of stuff in his shed. Among them were a couple of these little sets of drawers in which he kept all sorts of treasures - nuts, bolts, nails, screws and various other vital items. He labelled each drawer very neatly with what it contained. One of my favourite memories is that he ran out of things to put in the last of these little drawers so in the very bottom drawer he put a piece of congealed and set glue (from a previous project) and labelled the drawer "Yeti Turd". His grandsons thought it was hilarious.
I have now relabelled the drawers for my seed collection but in one of the drawers I still have that piece of yeti turd xx
