Garden ready!

After a week of blistering heat I was delighted to see many of the plants had grown like crazy and there was lots to harvest. I hope they hold out for the rest of the summer. Fingers crossed for some rain!

I have some magnificent looking courgette plants (probably from all the Yates Thrive seaweed fertiliser) and harvested the first two decent sized ones today. I hope I get a glut, I usually get such miserable harvests. I dug one of the summer delight potatoes today, so many spuds under it, much more productive than the jersey bennes, only problem is I forgot to bring them home :( I am hoping the one who thinks all things out the garden are free remembers them tonight and they make their way back to Wellington.

Thanks to all the gardeners for your motivation and enthusiasm. Without this challenge I wouldn’t have bothered to plant out the Wellington garden this year. Now it is looking beautiful, I have a plentiful supply of salad greens and I am hoping for many lovely tomoatoes. The heirloom ones are starting to set fruit, I wonder what they will be.

All the best for the rest of the season and a merry christmas with home grown peas and new potatoes!
