Yes it should have been in my garden! But this morning we joined a group weeding around native trees we planted last winter at the Waitangi Regional Park between Napier & Hastings.

It was hard work, much harder than in my garden! But the trees are coming along nicely, especially the ones in the head high grass pictured below in the comments section. The main photo was working in a more exposed spot that had been flooded in a storm so lots of debris & a number of casulties.

But it was a gorgeous morning, perfect for the job, sunny but not too hot. Altogether most satifying.

It’s a lovely spot to visit if you are ever up this way, there is a grand celestial compass the local Voyaging Waka Trust have installed & various water areas with birds. Here is a link to have a look at the video:
